Notes for owners and prospective buyers

Waiting time for sets of pipes is currently one year.

A respectful request to those who have ordered pipes - due to an overwhelming amount of administration and paperwork it is sometimes difficult to find time to actually make any reeds or pipes. It would be greatly appreciated if customers could refrain from contacting us for a progress report. We will telephone or write when the pipes are ready for posting or collection.

UK Customs and Excise - pipes being returned from overseas for re-reeding, repair, retuning or refurbishment. It should be stated boldly and clearly on the outside of the package that the pipes will be returned to their owner as soon as the work has been carried out. This is very important to avoid the charging of import duties, and weeks of delay at UK Customs and Excise.

Read notes on dry weather conditions and your pipes including instructions on how to humidify your instrument.

Boxwood - no guarantees can be given that pipes made of boxwood will not develop slight bending.

Owner please get in touch - I have a rose wood drone top - box mount and gold plated ferrule. We have done a beautiful repair on the tuning bead but due to my fault I do not have a clue who this belongs to. As we have had it now for at least a year could its owner please get in touch. Also apologies for this administrative error.

Orders can be placed by letter, email, phone or in person (our fax number is no longer available). A deposit of £150 is required at the time of ordering and this can be paid in cash, by cheque, by sterling draft or by Visa. It is advised that Visa numbers be dictated over the phone rather than emailed. There is a surcharge of £25 on final payment of pipes if paying by Visa or Mastercard.
